In an article published by Insurance Journal, “Talking, Texting and Surfing the Internet while operating cars, boats and trains is as taboo as drunk driving” quoted by Members of the National Transportation and safety Board. Drivers who send texts while driving are 23 times more likely to be involved in an accident than those who don’t and in fact research has shown that a driver texting while behind the wheel is as dangerous as a drunk driver.
Surprisingly in almost all states texting while driving is still permissible while drunk driving is forbidden.

The National Safety Council estimates that 200,000 accidents are caused each year by drivers who are text messaging.
